Route #3 – Booking Tanama Tours

It is a combination of Routes #1 and Routes #2. By joining both routes you have the spectacular Route #3.

Places to visit on Route #1  – Aventura Puerto Rico

There are two ways to get to route #1 (See similar photos of route #). You can cross through an immense rocky forest, across an ancient Taino road, you can see fantastic petroglyphs, and then you go into a Taino Indian altar full of petroglyphs, once there, you cross through a bamboo forest arriving to the entrance of a subterranean tunnel. There we get on air tubes, continuing on a direct line and without rapids, approx. 400 meters. Then we go through a hanging bridge, we continue hiking to cross some deep valleys. You can see the videos on our Facebook fan page. This route lasts approximate 4 hours or more.

Places to visit on Route #2  – Excursion Tanama en Utuado

After crossing a forest we go into what is called the foot of the mountain until arriving to the top and looking down to where the Tanama River flows through, (see petroglyphs), we then go up to the third level and pass on top of the mountain and visit Kaigo which is an impressive gorge or “pass” from where we can see the second level below at a distance of 1/3 Km. We continue the march to visit a cave called “Cueva Vieja” (Old Cave), and there we can see volcanic rocks and some bats, we then go around the mountain to arrive into the entrance of Route #3. We then make a right turn to cross the second tunnel in a downwards-upwards motion (see photos of Route #2). We then continue with the hike to arrive in a valley where another subterranean   river unites, then we make a right turn to cross the marvelous spring forest (this is called zone 3), it is a place to snack, rest, and to decrease bodytemperature. After a small break, we continue until arriving in another Taino Indian Altar called “La Llorosa” (The Crier) (see a video of that place in the web). We continue the hike until arriving to a viewpoint, which is in honor of a puertorrican activist who passed away in the beginning of the year 205. The route # 2 is tougher than route #1. It is also known as the scenery route, due to all the scenic places.
